The Czech and Slovak American Genealogy Society of Illinois
is very excited to make available the product of four years' effort
indexing the obituaries from this popular Chicago newspaper.
The Denni Hlasatel is a Chicago Czech newspaper
(many Polish and Slovak entries may be found, as well).
Over the past one hundred years it has been common to place obituaries
there which reveal a great deal about the deceased including in many
cases the area they originated from and their associated family members.

Location of Chicago Roman Catholic Churches 1850-1990 (The Second Edition)
Jack Bochnar compiled this very informative church-locator guide which describes all
of the Roman Catholic churches that have ever existed within the Chicago city
limits. The details include location, date of founding, ethnicity, map grid location,
pertinent facts, and current location of sacramental records. It also shows which
records are available on microfilm through the LDS Family History Centers.
This edition has been revised and the text updated to 1997 from the original version
printed in 1990. CSAGSI received permission to update and publish this valuable
resource.

Index to the Records of Linhart Funeral Home, Cicero, IL 1913-1954
CSAGSI has been privileged to receive permission to publish an index of the records of the second funeral home of the Linhart family which was established in Cicero in 1913. This Index is a finding aid that gives the surname and maiden name, if applicable, of the deceased, the age at death, and the funeral home's ledger date. The importance of the original, very detailed records can not be understated. In addition to birth, death, and burial dates, critical information such as the burial site, maiden name of mother, and exact place of birth (not just Austria, Bohemia, etc.) is often given.
