Just a reminder if you have not renewed your membership please do so now. Our new membership year began September 1, 1999. All members whose membership expired on August 31, 1999, please send in your renewal form with the appropriate membership dues as soon as possible. If you do not know when your membership expires, please look at the mailing label on the back of your newsletter.
As the summer winds down and fall kicks in we find our calendar getting busier and busier. Please make sure you view our Important Dates section on Page 3 of your newsletter for upcoming events. If you have Czech and Slovak events coming up in your area please let us know so we can let the membership know.
This past August 1, 1999 CSAGSI handled the bakery sale at the Czechoslovak American Congress picnic (of which we are members). Sharon Davis, chaired the event and had help from Bill Hosna, Richard Hartzel, Jerry Ruda, Ella Lastovicka, and May Rieckmann, as well as a few other people. The picnic was an overwhelming success. A crowd of about 700 were present enjoying good food, beer and entertainment. But, most important there were about 100+ children under 12 years old enjoying the activities as well. For us to prosper as an ethnic group we must get our children (or grandchildren) involved with our ethnic organizations and activities.
