President’s Message

The most recent Board of Directors and Executive Committee Meeting was held in LaGrange, prior to the August 19th General Meeting of society members and guests. I am so proud of the sixteen people at the table. The business of CSAGSI extends in many directions, not only the visible treasurers report, minutes of the previous meeting, or reports from publication editors but decisions on bank accounts, liability insurance needs, work on special genealogy projects (cemetery burials, book translation), and future CSAGSI workshops and programming. For the agenda that day there were thirty items demanding the attention and discussion of the society governing board. The directors, officers and chair people, with thoughtful attention and discussion to each topic, carefully brought these diversified matters to completion. At another time I will say more about the numerous other behind-the-scene volunteers who proudly assist in seeing that the continuing programs and services and new society interests are thoroughly taken care of. I thank you, the many volunteers, for saying “yes” when asked to help with the society. We are proud of you.
