Library Focus
In addition to genealogical interests, the focus of the library covers wider cultural-historical issues of the Czechs and Slovaks, their immigration to the United States, and their life in this country, particularly Chicago. We are proud to be one of the top three Czech/Slovak resource centers in Chicagoland.

Library Policies

  1. The CSAGSI library is open on the second Saturday of the months September thru May from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The library entrance is the south door of the building.
  2. The materials of the CSAGSI library may only be used in the T. G. Masarych library room. The collection of books, maps, magazines, pamphlets, pictures and articles are owned by the members of CSAGSI and they must have access to these materials. Please do not remove them. Thanks you.
  3. Please register your name at the registration desk in the library when you enter.
  4. A photocopier is available for 10 cents per copy.
  5. Please note that we do not own microfilms of any type.
The CSAGSI library gratiously accepts donations of materials in the categories named in item 2 above. We desire both old and current material. We also accept old copies of our journal, "Koreny," when a family no longer needs them. We thank those previous doners of money or materials.
