What is the difference between the “Members Pages” and the “Member’s Only Area?”

Basically, the “Member’s Pages” are an area of the CSAGSI website where members may post (via the webmaster) information describing the surnames and villages they are interested in. (If you want your information posted, email it to the webmaster.) The “Member’s Only Area,” on the other hand, is a password-protected area of special content available only to CSAGSI members.

I have a small monitor or my browser doesn’t support frames. Is there any way to view the main CSAGSI page only without the navigation bar?

While we don’t support this method, you can directly access the main page via the web address: http://www.csagsi.org/csagsi.htm (cut and paste this link into your browser).

Is CSAGSI the same as or part of CGSI?

No. We are two separate organizations. The Czechoslovak Genealogical Society International can be reached at www.cgsi.org.

How do I get access to the “Member’s Only Area?”

Send an email to the webmaster including your name and your membership number. You can find your membership number in your introductory package and on your Koreny and newsletter address labels.

What’s the difference between the Surname Index and the “Member’s Pages?”

The Member’s Pages are essentially an online version of the Surname Index. When you join CSAGSI, you are given a form to fill-out to have your information included in our Surname Index. However, not everyone wants their information posted on the Internet so you need to explicitly request it be posted by sending an email to the webmaster.

I do not live in the area, can you look-up an obituary or do a burial marker rubbing for me?

The short answer, unfortunately, is. "no." Some newspaper obituaries are available online, others, like those published in the Denni Hlasatel, can be viewed by ordering the microfilm via inter-library loan. Click here for Denni Hlasatel instructions.

I want to join CSAGSI or buy some of your publications.

OK, maybe you didn’t want to, but we would like you to. Membership has its privileges. Check out our membership page to see what membership includes and check out our CSAGSI store for information on our publications.
