On June 12th, Karl Moore, Supervisor of the Illinois Regional Archives gave a presentation on the resources available from IRAD.
Karl Moore, Supervisor of the Illinois Regional Archives gave a presentation on the resources available from IRAD. Following are some of the records available. Note that not all of these types of records are held by IRAD for every Illinois county and that many of the record dates begin in 1877).
Various birth records; death records including coroner's inquest records; marriages records; divorce records; residence information from assessors office and deed records; real property information including tax reports; personal property including estate sale records; naturalization papers including intent petitions and final paper (with soldiers' & minors' naturalization records); estate documents including wills, probate records, guardianship records, case files, chancery records; school attendance including schedules and pupil registers; court actions including civil law, criminal law, chancery law cases and records; pauper information; professions records including professional registers, teacher's records, miner's examining board, etc.
Handouts were distributed to those present.
