The speakers for the afternoon were residents, William "Bill" Pospishil, Bess Schefscik, Joseph Novotny (who also has a wing of the facility named after him due to his generous contributions), Mary Malec (at 104 the oldest in the facility and a joy to listen to), Helen Boor, Marie Holdik, and Rose Schultz.
Evelyn Fergle recalls, "they were quite alert and all seemed to share the same sense of 'hard work ethic' that we associate with our Czech forebears. They professed a strong devotion to their parents and family."
After a delicious luncheon in the Tabor Hills dining room, we met with the residents for an interesting question and answer session.
The staff was very hospitable to us, and a tour of the facility was given to those interested afterwards.

The star of the show, 104-year-old Mary Malec.
Asked the secret to her longevity she replied, "I won't tell." Then later confided
she would tell the widows in the audience.

An audience of more than 50 gathered in Naperville to share genealogical information,
enjoy a great ethnic dinner,
and listen to the charming and interesting residents at the
Tabor Hills Healthcare Facility.
